This past weekend, we ventured to a new local event called Touch a Truck Day!
We are always looking for local events to attend, especially free ones, and were excited to go after seeing someone else post about it on Facebook. Touch a Truck Day was a gathering of many different types of trucks for kids to see, sit in and play with. Is that perfect for boys or what? Even though Trent is a tad too young to understand what was going on, that didn’t stop us from bringing our little boy to touch some trucks!
Some of the trucks included:
Tow Truck
Monster Truck
2012 Mercedes Sprinter
Star Metro Bus
Animal Control
Tallahassee Fire Department
Vac Truck
Water Tanker
Underground Pipe TV Truck
Back Hoe
Fuel Truck
56′ Semi
23′ Delivery Truck
UPS Truck
Dump Truck
Excavator
Armored Car
PEPSI Delivery Truck
Our first stop was the “monster truck.” It was just a pickup truck on big tires, but it was definitely monster-sized next to little Trent!
Here’s Trent touching a truck…tire! Look at that concentration!
We then passed several large trucks with kids taking turns honking the horns. We quickly decided that wasn’t a good place to stand for our ear’s sake, so we headed towards the main event…the fire truck!!!
Trent wore his firefighter onesie that his Nana the firefighter bought for him! He was ready to take on some fires!
After visiting the rest of the trucks, including some sweet decked out party buses, we decided to head home. I jokingly tried to convince Brett we could make it to Disney in time for dinner and fireworks and that I had an endless supply of milk for Trent…but it didn’t work
I’ll admit, I was so excited for this. Of course, he could go visit his Nana anytime she’s working to see a fire truck, but this was his first time and it was also the first event that we went to because we had a child. I don’t know if we would have gone if we didn’t have Trent. I’m excited to find events like this and places to go to bring unique and fun experiences to him.
I will leave you with this super creepy sign that was outside one of the shops where the trucks were. Someone should consult with the owner about curb appeal and marketing techniques…I definitely didn’t want to go in after seeing it!!
