As part of the Chick-fil-A Mom Panel, we were challenged to come up with a fun recipe to “dress up your nuggets.” Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets are so yummy, and they wanted us to show everyone that they can be enjoyed other ways too and not just with their addicting dipping sauces.
Always up for a food challenge, we created a simple taco bowl using Chick-fil-A nuggets!
Our Chick-fil-A is only a few minutes away and we drive by it every day, so it was super convenient to just swing through the drive-thru and get 3 packs of 12 count nuggets (we got extra to make something else for Trent) – and a couple of sweet teas, because we can’t resist.
It was hard not to devour them while Brett was preparing the taco bowls.
We laid out some stand-n-stuff taco bowls – they are soft tortillas, but they stand up on their own. Then, we cut the chicken nuggets in half and portioned them into the bowls, then covered with shredded cheese and cut up pre-cooked bacon.
Just put them in the oven at 350 degrees for a few minutes to let the cheese melt and then you’re ready for toppings!
We topped them with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a southwestern ranch sauce, along with corn and black beans on the side to spoon onto each bite.
These are so delicious! I won’t confess how many I ate, but trust me, they are like chips…you can’t eat just one!
I love the idea of creating a meal at home using chicken that’s already ready to eat, especially Chick-fil-A chicken. Preparing raw chicken is the most time consuming job and it’s such a hassle. By picking up Chick-fil-A nuggets on the way home from work, dinner was ready in a few minutes!
