After my appointment last week, in which we found out we were having a girl (!!!), we decided to grab a bite to eat before Brett took me back to work. There’s a new shopping plaza near the hospital, so we decided to take a peek at what new restaurants were there and decided to try Zoe’s Kitchen.

It was actually the fact that Brett saw a turkey sandwich on the menu as we pulled into our parking spot…the other restaurants just didn’t have a chance once he saw that. That man loves a good turkey sandwich…especially the stacked and piled high ones.

As soon as I walked in, I knew exactly what I was getting…the chicken salad sandwich. I love trying chicken salad out at new places, because every place has a different recipe for it. The available sides were a bit different than other places…healthy stuff, no fries, but things like potato salad, fruit salad, Greek salad, etc. I chose the potato salad and Brett chose the rice pilaf (after confirming there were no onions hiding in there).
We grabbed our drinks and found a nice seat in the back. The layout is very open and bright, with tall ceilings and lots of windows.

There was some outdoor seating too, but it was quite sunny out this day, so we decided to take a little shelter from it.

The sandwiches weren’t piled high as we would have liked, but they were still very tasty. Brett’s turkey sandwich was grilled and had mozzarella and a feta cheese spread.

My sandwich was served cold and the multi-grain bread was soft and delicious. I would have liked smaller pieces in my potato salad and with a tad of mayonnaise mixed in, but I guess this was supposed to be a healthy version! Still tasty and we both ate our entire meals.

I loved that each table had a bottle of Greek dressing for you to use…it went great with my sandwich.

Trent had a kids fruit cup, which sounds like not enough food for a toddler and you are right…which was made even less because the fruit cup was just apples and pineapple and he wouldn’t eat the pineapple. We have better luck with feeding him stuff at home, so the apples were basically just a snack until Brett got back home. One day he will eat better out at restaurants, and we will be broke and wishing he didn’t eat so much…

We really enjoyed Zoe’s Kitchen and will include it in our options from now on whenever we start the “Where do you want to eat?” debate!
