Can I admit something to you? Other than some maternity clothes before the trip, I haven’t purchased a single item of clothing for myself in over a year, at least. I used to go into stores and head straight to shoes or women’s clothing. But now, where do I go? Straight for the toddler section. Geeze, someone help me with a little girl on the way.

I just can’t help it…kids clothes are so adorable and fun to buy…for Trent and for other kids I know. So when Apericots contacted me to pick out something for Trent, I couldn’t have been more excited!

I went to their website and found so many cute/funny items! Knowing we’d be attending Star Wars Weekend at Walt Disney World, I originally started looking at the Star Wars items. However, when I saw this shirt, I just had to have it…for Trent, of course!

We did not watch Breaking Bad when it was on tv, but we have been binge watching it on Netflix the past few months and are now in the final season. Heisenberg is the pseudonym for the main character, Walter White. Anyone that watches the show might ask how this reference is appropriate for a toddler…to them I say “Because it adds ‘burger’ to the end!” Oh, and “Because it’s funny!”

The shirt came in a deep, bold red with dark black print. Trent is somewhere in the 2T to 3T range, so I ordered a 3T…which was a little big, but still fit. I’m glad he will get several uses out of it before he grows fast like toddlers do!

During our trip, we had reservations at a Star Wars dinner, so I thought it would be perfect for him to wear his red semi-villainous shirt to declare he was choosing the Dark Side!

It was really hot and humid out, and this shirt was great…it’s not heavy, so Trent seemed comfortable in it the entire night. Several people pointed it out and said they loved it! A definite conversation-starter!!

If only I could have found a similar hat for him to wear with his shirt!

It’s no secret we’re Disney fans…we know it and so do all of our friends and family. Even complete strangers know it just by looking at us…Trent almost always has his Mickey hat on! He’s already been to Disney World 6 times and he’s not even 2 years old!

When creating Trent’s nursery and now a girl nursery, of course we had to find ways to sprinkle in some of that Disney magic in there. Oh Trent, you have shown me that there is definitely something worse than a picky-eater husband…a picky-eater toddler!

Trent’s menu is rather limited and when we try to put something on his plate that he doesn’t like, he definitely can not just leave it alone. He has to move it off or play with it until we take it off completely.

We rarely sit at the dining table to eat. We like sitting in the living room and relaxing with a good tv show or movie. Trent’s plate will go on the table and he’ll run around and play, grabbing bites of food in between. You all know how picky Trent is with his food now. There isn’t much he will eat as part of a big meal, so we try to make sure he gets healthy snacks throughout the day in addition to decent sized meals. It really is difficult to come up with different ideas so he isn’t eating the same things all the time, which is why we get excited when we actually take a chance on a new item and he likes it! Trent’s favorites were, of course, the fruits. The combo that he seemed to enjoy the most (a.k.a. the one he ate the fastest) was the Mango, Sweet Corn & Apple, with the Banana, Sweet Corn & Blueberry coming in second. I took a few bites of the corn and was pleasantly surprised…it really was sweet, but not in a candy-sweet sort of way. What a great way to sneak in some veggies!

However, he wasn’t a fan of the Sweet Peas, but he has never been a fan of peas…even when we pureed them up and mixed them with his favorite food as a baby, sweet potatoes, so we were kind of expecting that.

Each piece is tiny, so it’s easy for babies/toddler to pick up and feed themselves.

I like how veggies are included in each pouch and it’s not just fruits. Looking through the aisles for snacks for Trent’s results in many items geared towards fruits, so this is a nice solution for veggies too.

Each box comes with 5 individually wrapped pouches of snacks. This makes it easy to throw a few in the diaper bag or purse, in the car or in the stroller for a healthy snack on the go.

I joke a lot about how much it rains in Florida…starting in the Spring and through Summer, it rains at least every other day. And hurricane season goes all the way to November! But even with the amount of rain we get, we also get the best sunshine-filled, beautiful days throughout the year. I love being outside, even more so with Trent, and we’re looking forward to trips to the beach, WDW and the park even more as the temperature heats up.

But with all those outside activities, we need to make sure we protect our skin from the sun, and that’s why try to make Trent wear a hat anytime we are outside. But not only do I want a hat that protects him, but I want it to be cute too!

But you can also let them dangle if your child doesn’t like the straps and the hat still stays on perfectly.
