Active Family Fun with Just Dance 2015

Finding balance between “mommy time” and spending time with the kids can be difficult…especially when mommy time needs to consist of so many things and is usually accompanied by guilt (I’m working on that). One of those things in the ever-growing to-do list is to lose weight/get healthier/be active. Sometimes it’s nice to go for a run by myself, but sometimes it’s also nice to combine the the two…being active while spending time with my family. I also want to be a good role model for them and show them that being active can be fun.

One way I’ve done this in the past and continue to do is with active video games! Trent loves playing educational games on the tablets and our phones, so I like changing the pace and playing games that get us moving and having fun. I have every single Just Dance game for the Wii and this year is no exception…with Just Dance 2015 being added to the collection!

Some other fun features on Just Dance 2015 are the ability to choose and earn avatars and the various dancing modes:

-World Dance Hall: World Dance Hall is the online mode for Just Dance 2015. Dance with anyone in the world, create a dance crew, compete on different themes and check fun stats and rankings!

-Challenge Mode: Challenge people around the world using the Challenge Mode feature. The great thing about this is players don’t have to be online at the same time to challenge each other.

-On Stage Mode: This mode allows one player to dance while one or two other players dance back-up for the lead.

-Karaoke Mode: Karaoke Mode allows players to sing along with the lyrics displayed at the bottom of the screen. Just like with dancing, you can be scored on your performance. I LOVE this addition! I foresee my niece, as well as many other little girls out there singing and dancing to “Let it go!”

This next photo came out a little blurry, but I HAD to share it - Trent was ready to dance!

Just Dance 3

As soon as I said “Trent, let’s dance” he was ready to play! He doesn’t exactly know how to use the controller, but he still wanted it and was copying me as I did stuff. That’s the first step to learning how to do something, though, so I’m sure he’ll be a Wii pro soon enough!

Of course, when Trent dances, he’s all over the room…which is good for him, but not his game score haha!

Just Dance 8

Even Sheepy had to get in on this dance action!

Just Dance 6

Trent eventually got rid of the remote, but kept up his smooth moves…which were made even funnier by his insistence on wearing firefighter rain boots in the house. Gotta love toddlers. :)

Just Dance 5

On Halloween, our family came over and couldn’t wait to play too!

With an infant in the house now, sometimes I feel bad that we are lazy on the couch too much, so I love that Just Dance helps us get up and have fun at any time. It doesn’t require us to pack up everything needed for two young kids to leave the house…we just turn on the Wii and start dancing, day or night!

To bring awareness to National Bullying Prevention Month, Just Dance 2015 and Stomp Out Bullying have partnered to show people everywhere that “it’s okay to dance to your own beat!” So don’t hold back, turn on Just Dance 2015, grab those remotes, and be silly!

Just Dance 2015 can be purchased on Amazon!
