Trent’s 3rd Birthday Paw Patrol Party

On Sunday, close friends and family gathered for Trent’s 3rd birthday Paw Patrol party!

Compared to his 1st birthday party, this was a much smaller and less stressful affair – which I loved. Most importantly, Trent had a fantastic time. 🙂

When racking our brains trying to decide what theme to go with, Trent surprised us with his knowledge of every Paw Patrol character by saying the names out loud and pointing to them. We knew he liked the show, in addition to several other shows, but we didn’t know he knew all the character names. Decision made!

It was easy finding decorations online and we limited ourselves to just a couple DIY projects, my favorite of which was his shirt!

I found the image online and Brett used his Photoshop magic to cut out the background and add Trent’s name to the bottom. Then I printed it on T-Shirt Iron-on paper, cut it out with the Silhouette (LOVE that thing!), and then Brett ironed it onto a plain white t-shirt.

We found these dog bowls at the dollar store and were great to serve food in.

We got a set of dog bone cookie cutters from Amazon and used the medium size to cut out meat and cheese for sandwiches.

We also found these Scooby Doo Bone-shaped Graham Crackers, which were perfect to dip into Funfetti dip!

Continuing with the bone theme, we also had these bone-shaped gummies.

It was really hot outside, so the party mostly stayed indoors for a little while, which was good because everyone was already there for cake and presents. Brett made a big cake shaped like a dog bone!

Someone thought he was sneaky…

Leading up to the party, Trent would sing “Happy Birthday to you”, then pretend to blow out candles, then say “Eat cake and presents!” – He had the routine memorized and did it perfectly when it came time for the real thing.

After each gift, I would tell him who the gift was from and he would say thank you and run to give them a hug…it was so sweet.

One of our good friends painted a portrait of Trent and Sheepy…he was so surprised!

He loved it!

After presents, we all headed outside to play in the pool and relax. We made a bean bag toss game out of the dog bowls and stickers.

The kids mostly stuck to the kiddie pool and water table, but a few people got into the big pool…including Aubrey for the first time! She was kicking and laughing…I hope she continues to like the pool that much!

As favors, we had an “Adopt a Puppy” table, and kids could take a puppy home with them.

Your article has really helped. Having a puppy themed party for our great grandson’s first birtday .(also our first great grandchild). I found the Paw Patroll plates and napkins but your idea of the bowls is so cute. I am still looking for the Keebler Scooby Doo bone shaped graham crackers. The “adopt a puppy ” is such a cute favor idea.

    Thanks so much.

I think you can use any size depending on how big or small you want the cake.

    so cute! 2 questions:

Where did you buy the puppies for favors?
