Philanthropy is important to Hormel Foods – and that’s why they have made an ongoing commitment to help end hunger and give back to communities in which they live and work. Hormel Foods recently completed the third year of the On Our Way to Ending Hunger Program, through which more than $6.5 million was donated to hunger relief organizations throughout the United Stated and abroad during fiscal year 2013.
We are lucky to have a number of options for contributing to those in need. Not only do we participate when the US Postal Service leaves us the bag to place out on our mailbox for them to pick up non-perishable items, but we also know friends, family and coworkers that organize special programs for us to give to.
It’s as simple as setting aside some cans for donation. It requires almost no effort, so the “I don’t have time” excuse doesn’t apply…anyone can do this much!
Hormel foods is committed to giving back in 2014. If you’re interested in assisting those in need in your community, consider donating to your local food shelf. Hormel Foods offers a variety of non-perishable products, and Feeding America provides a great tool for located a food bank nearest you.
