the holidays coming up plenty of outdoor parties left in the season, I have a simple and delicious appetizer idea for you…Hormel Chili Dip!
I always struggle to come up with ideas for potlucks or for something that people can nosh on while waiting for the meal to be ready…mostly because my cooking abilities are limited and it’s whatever Brett can make for me haha. But this recipe is super quick and easy…just 3 ingredients and no oven required, just a microwave. I am the microwave QUEEN!
- 1 – 16 oz can of Hormel Chili
- 1 – 8 oz package of cream cheese
- 1 – 16 oz package of cheddar cheese (mild or sharp, whichever you prefer)
- Chips for dipping
Microwave cream cheese for 1 minute in 12″ x 12″ Pyrex dish or glass pie dish, then spread cream cheese to cover bottom of dish.
Pour the Hormel chili on top of the cream cheese. Hormel offers several varieties of Chili. Brett doesn’t eat red meat, so we got the Turkey Chili. Also to note, he doesn’t eat onions, but he took a chance on this one since it was one of the very last ingredients and he was able to enjoy it as there was no onion flavor or texture in the chili.
Lastly, layer with the shredded cheddar cheese.
Microwave for 3 minutes or until cheese has melted.
Serve with nacho chips or Fritos – we used the tortillas scoops to get more of those layers on each chip! This dip also tastes great reheated the next day. 🙂
